MADAM – I wonder if your readers can help me regarding a large oil painting I purchased from the Vicar of Wimbledon in the mid-1980s (see above right). At the time the vendor was only able to tell me that he had purchased it as a ‘View over London’ at a Royal Academy Exhibition in the 1970s.
The signature appears to read GH (or L) Jennison. Having been unable to find any reference to such an artist, I wondered whether the signature might be a pseudonym? I still have the painting on display and, although I enjoy it very much, I have always regretted not knowing anything about the painter.
