One of them will be in Philadelphia at Freeman’s on April 6 when the auctioneers offer a single-owner sale that ranges from Asian works of art and 19th century European furniture (including a selection of Biedermeyer pieces) to paintings, works on paper, decorative arts and modern and contemporary design.

The works on paper section includes a group of woodcuts by Edward Wadsworth, among them this 9 x 11in (23 x 28cm) study of The SS Jerseymoor which is signed, inscribed and dated Liverpool 1918. Kaplan acquired it from the London dealer Scolar Fine Art in 2002 and it is guided here at $30,000-50,000.
