This was Muhammad Ali, according to his biographer Thomas Hauser, on hearing his boxing gloves would be held in a local prison until the day of his heavyweight bout with Joe Bugner in Kuala Lumpur.
The entertaining anecdote refers to the very padded leather mittens, used in that fight on June 30 in 1975, which are now up for sale on May 15-16 in London at sporting memorabilia specialist, Graham Budd.
Estimated at £40,000-60,000, the red pair of Winning SS gloves are signed by both fighters.
The bout was the second occasion that Ali and Bugner met in the ring. Ali was awarded the victory on a unanimous decision, and it set up the famous ‘Thrilla in Manila’ fight with Joe Frazier.

Moving on from boxing to cricket, and Knights Sporting Auctions in Leicester is offering memorabilia that spans a century of Ashes rivalry between England and Australia.
A highlight is the cricket ball with which Bob Willis took eight wickets for 43 runs in the famous third Test played at Headingley in July 1981.
The ball is offered with a presentation medal awarded to Willis after the game by match sponsor Cornhill Insurance and his 1981 series medal.
The group is guided at £8000-12,000 in the sale on May 13-14.
