On December 6 in the History of Science and Technology auction in New York, Bonhams will offer one of the first digital ‘blue boxes’ designed by Steve Wozniak c.1972 and marketed by Jobs and Wozniak.

It was the first business activity by the pair who went on to found Apple.

It is offered with two versions of a black box, each consisting of two alligator clips, a switch, and a push-button, including a Wozniak circuit, which would artificially support the voltage of a phone line, suppressing the telephone billing activator and allowing its user free incoming calls. It carries an estimate of $30,000-50,000.
