Quack Doctor figure sold at Reeman Dansie for £7100.
The Quack became part of Kändler’s series c.1755 but, as with other figures in the series, it was long in production at Meissen and frequently faked.
The 6in (15cm) model at Reeman Dansie with incised numerals to the base had minor, but many, chips and losses and was estimated at £200-300. Bidders thought better of it and the figure sold at £7100.
