Another combination almost guaranteed to sell was a George Tinworth/Doulton Lambeth piece.
This 19th century stoneware menu holder modelled as a boy reading a book, monogrammed by Tinworth and with impressed marks to base, was in fine condition bar a minor firing fault to the right-hand arm.
Against a £300-500 estimate, it sold at £2200.
