The well-preserved 3ft 4in x 4ft 2in (1.01 x 1.27m) British railway posters were secured by a UK collector at £7500 against a £7000-9000 guide. The only variation between the pair is the presence of a ball finial on top of the now demolished Art Deco lido building. The design must have been modified in 1931 when the architectural feature was added to the lido.

Matania’s 1938 design for Blackpool featuring a saluting female bather sold to another UK buyer at £4200 against a £4000-5000 estimate. Being visual, affordable and easy to ship, few fields have adapted so seamlessly to e-commerce as vintage posters.
