Emeralds of this quality are always highly sought-after, but the market has seldom been stronger.

From the collection of a family of Spanish descent is a c.1935 heartshaped brooch (above) signed Cartier Paris with French assay marks, set with a Colombian emerald of approximately 14.75 carats.

An AGL report states the emerald is of Colombian origin with ‘insignificant to minor traditional clarity enhancement’. It is offered in a signed Cartier box with an estimate of $150,000-250,000.

From the ‘property of a distinguished lady’, and estimated at $125,000-175,000, is an emerald and diamond bow brooch with a central pear-shaped Columbian stone weighing over 21 carats.
