A George III cherry comb-back Windsor armchair, made in the Thames Valley c.1760, is estimated at £3000-5000 in an auction of furniture and antiques at The Pedestal in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire on April 24.
Made from elm, the 3ft 9in (1.14m) high piece has a shaped toprail, a pierced vase splat and walnut arm-bow, and cabriole legs joined by stretchers.

Included in Trevanion & Dean’s sale in Whitchurch, Shropshire, on April 21 is a Bank of England Abraham Newland (1778-1807) One Pound note. Dated April 15, 1799, and numbered 2624 with two signatures, it comes in a later frame and is estimated at £2000-3000.

Believed to be old costume jewellery, this pair of early 20th century earrings by Cartier shown above was housed for many years in an old biscuit tin by the owner, alongside a selection of other designer pieces.
The inherited 15-lot jewellery group, which dates from the 1920s-‘30s, will be sold by Lindsay Burns of Perth on April 24-25 with a collective value of £10,000-20,000.
The pair of Cartier earrings features briolette-cut amethysts and brilliant-cut diamonds, and comes in an original red leather and gilt Cartier fitted case.

The 3ft 4in x 4ft 1in (1.03 x 1.24m) oil on canvas, depicting spaniels and a pointer in a landscape, is indistinctly signed and dated Horn 1648.
