Decorated with a scene of farmers sowing and ploughing rice fields within a famille rose enamel border, a Chinese Republican period saucer dish is estimated at £700-900 at a sale of Asian art held by Mallams on April 25-26 in Cheltenham.
On the base are three lotus flower and foliate sprays and a red four-character Zhuanshu script Qianlong seal mark.

This Alfa Romeo P2 clockwork racing car shown above, made by the French company CIJ (Compagnie Internationales des Jouets), is going under the hammer at Cottees Auctions of Poole in Dorset on April 20.
The c.1920s toy was one of a series made following the success of the Grand Prix car designed by Vittorio Jano, which went on to win the inaugural Automobile World Championship in 1925.
Measuring 21in (53cm) long, this example, painted in red with a racing number 2 to the front grille, and rubber Michelin tyres, was given to the vendor’s father as a child. It comes in working order with a key.

A 10½ x 14½in (27 x 37cm) oil on canvas of a bay mare by equestrian painter Henry Frederick Lucas-Lucas (1848-1943) has been consigned to an auction on May 5 at Stamford saleroom Batemans. Titled Caroline, the picture is signed and dated 1911.
Born in Lincolnshire, Lucas devoted his long life to painting equestrian portraits, particularly in the Rugby area where he settled. His career spanned the 19th and 20th centuries, artistically shifting from formal hunting portraits to more relaxed compositions in his later years.
