The Open House Festival* fields 142 events in 31 venues throughout August and this year, as part of a three-year project, the organisers are running within the event a one-day open-air festival called Seaside Revival: Bangor-by-the- Sea on Saturday, August 11 (see poster).

This vintage festival aims to bring to life the music and dance of Bangor’s past, from the 1920s to the ‘50s and ‘60s, with vintage fashion stalls offering retro items ranging from eclectic clothes, bygone records, vintage and upcycled furniture and bric-a-brac to a collection of old-school comic books.

Other attractions include classic cars and swing bands plus workshops and fringe events.

* The Open House Festival’s events include talks by former war correspondent Martin Bell and Helen Pankhurst, great-granddaughter of Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst.
