There was particular interest in a Victorian gold bracelet set with a series of stained shell cameos of dancing nudes. Pitched at £250-400, it made £3400.
Bidding from the UK trade across seven phones dominated the jewellery sale, but it was a caller from the Czech Republic who snared a George III two-colour gold metal and micro-mosaic snuff box.
The finely set scene of Cupid chained to a rock with a mountainous landscape and the sea in the background was after Giovanni Pickley, while the inside of the lid carried an engraved family crest and the initials TEW. It sold in a fitted case for £12,500.
