In The Joy of Colour: The Late Paintings & Prints (until February 24) at Henley-on- Thames’ Bohun Gallery, a number of these works are on offer for prices ranging from £5000-20,000.

The majority of these pictures were produced after 1998 when, at age 86, she agreed to make a series of screen prints with Carol Robertson of Graal Press. The ensuing period was one of the most productive of her life, creating 65 editions within the final five years of her life.

Barns-Graham was a key member of the St Ives Group and a leading British modernist alongside artists such as Terry Frost, Barbara Hepworth and Christopher Wood. These exuberant later works have a particularly wide appeal among collectors today.
