The auction, which was almost exclusively dedicated to vintage posters, was a firm fixture in the lean January calendar until CSK’s closure last year.

Now Edinburgh auction house Lyon & Turnbull is looking to fill the void with a section on ski posters included in its Fine Furniture & Works of Art sale on January 31.

The auction house has partnered with Tomkinson Churcher, an art consultancy firm founded by former CSK poster specialists Nicolette Tomkinson and Sophie Churcher.

L&T said the offering will be the first in a series held throughout the year with Tomkinson Churcher.

The catalogue includes some 40 lots advertising the attractions of resorts in Switzerland, France, Austria and Norway by well-known graphic artists like Alex Diggelmann, Martin Peikert and Roger Broders.

L&T also announced a partnership with Tomkinson Churcher on a series of specialist vintage poster sales for 2018.
