Among the highlights is a Stuart Devlin parcel-gilt silver ice bucket, 7in (17cm) high, London 1972.

A 20th century retailer’s advertising display case for John Nowill & Sons Ltd is estimated at £400-600 at Bellmans on February 14-15 in West Sussex. The 6ft x 3ft (1.83m x 91cm) oak piece is painted with hunting knives, pocket knives and pen knives, backed to oak, with a numerical key and the retailer’s title.
A late 19th century silver dish ring which was bought c.1929 at the auction of the contents of Glencairn House in Dublin, now the official residence of the British ambassador to Ireland, is for sale on February 3 in The Eclectic Collector, a regular sale held by Whyte’s of Dublin.
The 3½ x 8in (9 x 20cm) piece is engraved with the arms of the Croker family, who owned the estate at the beginning of the 20th century.
Decorated with pierced shamrocks, harps, a round tower and a wolfhound, the dish ring has passed by descent since its purchase, and is estimated at €800-1200.

Norfolk auction house Keys is selling this first edition of the inaugural Biggles book on January 25-26 in Aylsham.
The Camels Are Coming was the first book by author WE Johns (1893-1968) featuring Captain James Bigglesworth of the Royal Flying Corps.
It was published in 1932 and consisted of 17 short stories about the fictional First World War flying ace and his sidekicks Algy, Ginger and Smyth.
It was the first of nearly 100 books featuring the character written by Johns up until his death in 1968, a body of work wildly popular in its time.
