The first features 10 works by Scottish painter AR Sturrock (1885-1953) and reflects his love of the countryside.
Sturrock was born in Edinburgh, apprenticed with a firm of lithographers and subsequently studied at the Edinburgh College of Art.
Husband to fellow artist Mary Newbery, he exhibited widely and was elected to the Royal Scottish Academy in 1937.
Including items on loan and for sale, the show brings together a variety of his works such as depictions of farmhouses, cottages, lochs, coastal scenes and villages in Sturrock’s characteristic use of soft light and shadow.
Meanwhile, Highlights: New Acquisitions brings together Scottish art from the 18th century to the present at prices ranging from £350-65,000. A still-life by George Henry, a local landscape by Alexander Nasmyth and an early work by Glasgow Boy Edward Atkinson Hornel are among the pieces on offer.
Both shows continue until July 14 at the Dundas Street Gallery.
