Some of her fine work will be for sale in Kath Libbert’s summer selling show at her jewellery gallery in Salts Mill, Saltaire, West Yorkshire which runs until September 16.

Called Birds, Bees, Bears and Blossoms, some of the artists’ pieces in this show, including Ambery-Smith, focus on their fascination with bees.

Roman scholar Pliny the Elder (23-79AD) described their honey as “the sweat of the heavens and the saliva of the stars” and far less lyrically, the greedy Winnie-the Pooh, the fictional bear in the AA Milne stories, said: “The only reason for making honey is so I can eat it.”

The ‘beehive hotel’ pins in the show pictured above by Ambery-Smith are made of silver and 18ct gold and cost from £192 each.
