An Edwardian platinum-mounted opal and old mine-cut diamond-set pendant necklace in its original retailer’s box is one of the highlights of the annual antiques fair to be held at Wilton House, the ancestral home of the Earls of Pembroke for 400 years.
The 41st annual fair will run from Friday to Sunday, March 2-4. The 40 dealers, many of them BADA or LAPADA members, will set out their stands in the cloisters and the old riding school at the fine Palladian stately home set in 21 acres of parkland in the Wiltshire countryside.
Well-known names
Some of these well-known names include Jane Burgett with Danish silver, Sheldon Shapiro & Co offering jewellery and Mark Goodger bringing his antique boxes and accessories. Fine 18th and 19th century furniture will be displayed and sold by Freshfords Antiques and Freya Mitton’s stand festooned with 20th century British art.
This is a stylish and vetted event held in one of England’s finest country houses, producing a footfall of around 2000 over the three days of the fair.
