The event takes place on March 9 at the Maastricht fair, filling the slot which in past years has been devoted to the unveiling of the TEFAF Art Market Report.
It is dedicated to contemporary marketplace issues such as collecting ethics, transparency and modern materials in a series of panel discussions.
Changing Attitudes and the Ethics of Collecting features Marcel Marée of the British Museum and collector Christian Levett.
In Transparency and the Art Market: Challenges and Opportunities, Georgina Adam will interview TEFAF’s board of trustees chairman Nanne Dekking.
Finally, head of conservation at the Rijksmuseum Robert van Langh will appear alongside professor of cultural heritage science Jennifer Mass and AXA ART CEO Kai Kuklinski to speak on The Challenge of Modern Materials. The whole programme runs for more than two hours.
The TEFAF Art Market Report was scrapped this year and is to be replaced by a number of smaller, focused reports.
