The Holker Hall Antiques & Fine Art Fair is staged by Galloway Antiques Fairs and takes place from March 16-18. Twenty-four dealers will attend bringing furniture, rugs, jewellery, antiquarian maps, clocks and more.

Art Nouveau and Art Deco sculpture and glass specialist Solo Antiques, Carnes Fine Art with a selection of 19th and 20th century British and European art and jewellery dealer Greenstein Antiques are among those standing.

Lancaster House Antiques is also attending, bringing an eight-day longcase clock. It features a brass dial, signed J Barber Winster, with a painted scene of a church next to a stone pyramid building. The movement is numbered 437, dating the clock to 1758.

It is similar to a clock on the front cover of Jonas Barber, Clockmaker of Winster (1979), a book by BW Cave-Brown, which is offered along with the clock at £6550.
