A clock made by one of Thomas Tompion’s closest assistants will go under the hammer at Roseberys on March 22.
The 18th century ebony table clock was made by Daniel Delander (1678-1733), after he set up his own workshop in London. The 14½in (37cm) high clock, with a five pillar eight-day fusee movement, is signed to the brass dial.
Estimate £8000-12,000.

A Venetian view by marine painter Montague Dawson (1895-1973) will go under the hammer at Netherhampton Salerooms in a rescheduled sale on April 6 in Wiltshire.
The signed 20in x 2ft 6in (51 x 76cm) oil on canvas depicting gondolas crossing the lagoon in the evening light, is an early work by the artist which he gave to his patron, the horticulturist Raymond Bush. It is being sold by Bush’s granddaughter, estimated at £6000-8000.
A watercolour sketch by JMW Turner (1775-1851) is among the stars of an auction dedicated to Welsh art and antiques at Rogers Jones of Cardiff on March 24.
A Slate Quarry in North Wales, measuring 10 x 14in (26 x 35cm), is typical of Turner’s topographical sketches of the places he visited during his tour of Wales in 1798-99.
The work was uncovered from a house in the Vale of Glamorgan and can be traced to a Christie’s sale in 1978 when it sold for £1400. Estimate £10,000-15,000.
