The Weekend Collective is a fully-vetted ‘table-top’ section where dealers can stand for the Saturday and Sunday of the four-day fair.

The announcement follows a trial of the concept at the last staging of the event (where it was called ‘Section Three’).

It comes into full effect at its next edition from July 19-22, following consultation with regular exhibitors who recommended full vetting and presentation in keeping with the rest of the fair.

Fair director Mary Claire Boyd of organiser Clarion Events said that the initiative “is a chance for anyone new to antiques to come along and browse an even broader range of pieces”.

The name of the fair, which started in 1986, has also changed to Art & Antiques For Everyone.

The addition of the word ‘art’ is designed to reflect the increasing presence of specialist art and sculpture exhibitors. Clarion has also added the subtitle ‘For Decorative Interiors’.
