Wolfsohn porcelain bottle vases
The 18th century French painter Antoine Watteau has influenced many, including porcelain decorator Helena Wolfsohn and her painting studio in Dresden.
These 12½in (32cm) high late 19th century Wolfsohn pair of porcelain bottle vases (above) are painted with scenes of courting couples after Watteau.
They carry pseudo- Meissen Augustus Rex ‘AR’ marks in underglaze blue and are estimated at £250-350 in a sale of ceramics and glass at Chiswick Auctions in west London on July 3.
Derby figures
Pair of Derby porcelain figures, estimated at £200-400 at Mallams.
On June 7 in Cheltenham, auction house Mallams will sell the collection of Aurea Carter, the late Portobello dealer who specialised in mid-18th century and early 19th century English pottery and porcelain.
This pair of 8in (20cm) high Derby porcelain figures, modelled as a shepherd and shepherdess, is among the lots to feature. Last offered at Sotheby’s in 1993, they come with a £200-400 estimate.

Etruscan vase
Etruscan vase dating from c.650 BC, priced at £5000 by Oliver Forge & Brendan Lynch.
This contemporary-looking Etruscan vase dates c.650 BC and is incised with decoration and, unusually, bronze studs.
The 9½in (24cm) high piece is part of the van Roozendaal collection of classical antiquities being sold at London and New York dealership Oliver Forge & Brendan Lynch during London Art Week (June 29-July 6). This piece is priced at £5000 and was exhibited at the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam in 1990.
Syrian ceramic
Ceramic vase from Raqqa dated to c.10-12th centuries, priced at £1200 by the Solaimani Gallery.
ALFayez is the name of a new department launching on June 1 at Alfies Antique Market in Church Street, Marylebone.
Specialising in Middle Eastern art, it will encompass more than 4500 sq ft of recently refurbished space with over 25 dealers. The department will also feature a ‘grand’ staircase and water feature, and a lounge and coffee area inspired by the souks of Asia and Africa.
This 10in (25cm) high ceramic vase dates to the c.10-12th centuries and comes from Raqqa in Syria. It is priced at £1200 from the Solaimani Gallery at ALFayez.
Picasso's 'Visage'
Pablo Picasso ‘Visage’ bowl, 1955, offered at Forum Auctions with a £1500-2000 estimate.
Between 1947-71, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) oversaw the production of more than 9000 ceramic pieces at the Madoura Pottery in Vallauris, southern France.
This area of the artist’s oeuvre is currently hot property on the secondary market.
Made in an edition of 500 and inscribed on the underside Edition Picasso Madoura, this small 5in (13cm) Visage bowl, 1955, is estimated at £1500-2000 in a sale of editioned art pieces at Forum Auctions in Mayfair on June 25.
Martin Brothers stoneware bird

An Arts & Crafts sale on June 20 at Salisbury saleroom Woolley & Wallis will feature this 10in (25cm) high Martin Brothers stoneware bird vase by Edwin and Walter Martin, dated 1892.
It carries an estimate of £2000-4000.
Chinese lotus bowl

This 18th century Chinese doucai lotus bowl, with a period Yongheng mark, is estimated at £2500-3500 at Matthew Barton’s Asian and European works of art sale at 25 Blythe Road in West Kensington on June 6-7.
The 4in (9.5cm) wide piece is decorated with a stylised lotus scroll, a band of petals at the foot and a single lotus painted to the interior.
Greek lekythos
Terracotta lekythos, c.5th century BC, priced at £3800 from Kallos Gallery.
Used for storing oil in ancient Greece, this small 5in (12.5cm) high terracotta vessel known as a lekythos is around 1500 years old.
The c.5th century BC vase is painted in the attic red-figure decoration and has provenance to the antiquities collection of Robert Thompson of Philadelphia between the 1970s and 2000.
It is priced at £3800 from Kallos Gallery in Davies Street, Mayfair.

Russian porcelain service
Soup tureen estimated at £15,000-20,000 at MacDougall’s. It comes from a service traced to Russia’s Imperial Porcelain Manufactory.
Part of an extensive royal service that has only recently been traced by specialists is going under the hammer in a June 6 sale of Russian art and antiques at MacDougall’s in The Mall, central London.
Created in the mid-1830s by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory and decorated in the neo-rococo style, the Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich Service was gifted to the grand duke by his royal brother, Nicholas I, and used in royal receptions at the Mikhailovsky Palace in St Petersburg, now the State Russian Museum.
It later came to be part of the dowry of the Grand Duchess Yekaterina Mikhailovna and sent to her official residence in Germany before it was broken up and sold in 1952. The 13-lot group at MacDougall’s has been consigned from an ‘important’ private collection in Europe. This soup tureen is estimated at £15,000-20,000.
Sèvres fruit dish
Sèvres ‘compotier coquille’ fruit dish, c.1770, offered at Bonhams with a £10,000-15,000 estimate.
This c.1770 shell-shaped ‘compotier coquille’ fruit dish by Sèvres comes from the service made for Madame Du Barry, Louis XV’s last mistress.
The 8½in (22cm) wide piece is decorated with a central scene of a seated putto holding a page of geometry shapes, surrounded by a band of laurel leaves with berries and a rim of gilt-edged turquoise.
Bonhams will offer the piece at £10,000-15,000 in its July 5 sale of European ceramics in New Bond Street. It bears an interlaced LL monogram in blue and has some old restoration to repair.
Suprematist service

This porcelain cup and saucer, from the c.1934 Suprematists ‘contrast service’, was designed for Soviet Union’s State Porcelain Factory by Nikolai Suetin (1897-1954).
It is marked in green underglaze with a hammer, sickle and cog, and is estimated at £5000-7000 in a June 4 sale of Russian art at Christie’s King Street in St James’s.

Meissen group
Meissen group of a Danish pug dog and two puppies, priced in the region of £55,000 by Brian Haughton.
Back for a second year, dealers Brian Haughton, Christophe Perles and Robyn Robb will come together for a group exhibition of Continental and English ceramics titled A Collectors’ Paradise at the Brian Haughton Gallery in St James’s from June 29-July 6.
A star exhibit is this c.1745 Meissen group of a Danish pug dog and two puppies, naturalistically modelled by JJ Kaendler. The 8in (21cm) high piece is priced in the region of £55,000 from Brian Haughton.
