Designed to be portable, it dates from the 17th century and is of an unusually large size, measuring 2ft 11in x 1ft 7in (88 x 48cm) and weighing 7.1kg.
Decorated with Marian symbols, the Holy Trinity and framed by cherubs, the centre has a Baroque painting on copper of the Adoration of the Shepherds which is flanked by two Solomonic columns bordered by clusters of grapes symbolising the Eucharist.
It comes to auction from an important private collection and is estimated to sell for €5000.
