Dated for London, 1661, it was by an unknown smith but his mark, HW above a star, is listed in Jackson’s English Goldsmiths and their Marks.

Estimated at £800-1200 at Stroud Auctions (18% buyer’s premium) on March 6, it sold to a UK buyer in the Gloucestershire rooms at £4000.
