France’s annual Journées Marteau event, organised by the French auctioneers’ association SYMEV (Syndicat National des Maisons de Ventes Volontaires), takes place from April 5-7.
Dedicated to the promotion of auction houses across the country, this year, as its poster pictured above shows, it is concentrating on attracting the public with Journées de l’Expertise, inviting them to bring in their treasures for valuation.
Salerooms take part countrywide, from Chinon to Chartres and Dijon, as well as plenty in the French capital. Some regional auction houses in France also stage sales at the weekend so there is also the opportunity to buy as well as view and value. Details of the programme can be found on the website below.
