1. Scottish artist Victoria Crowe (b.1945) has been the focus of several exhibitions in recent years. This signed 10 x 11½in (24 x 29cm) oil on board, titled Gateway and dated 1976, sold against an £80-120 guide at Thomson Roddick’s Edinburgh saleroom on April 11.

2. Bull Fight (1954), a signed 12 x 18in (30 x 47cm) woodcut by the Modern British print-maker and sculptor Gertrude Hermes (1901-83), sold with another signed woodcut for three times its top guide at Bristol Auction Rooms in Brislington on April 11.

3. This portrait, possibly depicting the 19th century politician Charles Baring Wall as a child, formed part of the contents of Moigne Combe, offered at Duke’s of Dorchester on April 10. The 14 x 12in (36 x 30cm) oil on panel was painted by James Leakey (1775- 1865), known best for his delicate miniatures painted in oil on ivory.
