This includes a novel focusing on the life in the Black Country of a relative who was an Indian princess.
June Pettit said: “I was one of the first dealers to open up a stall in the Old Mill Antiques Centre in Bridgnorth when the centre first opened in 1996. As well as the centre I had a shop in Tettenhall, a village close to Wolverhampton.”
She added: “Antiques dealing started when I was an artist and kept getting paint everywhere in the house. So I opened a shop in Wolverhampton’s city centre as a studio and when people started bringing things in it ended up as an antiques shop.”
The dealer, who has published three novels and a book of poetry, is “sad to be leaving the Old Mill and owner John Ridgway – I treasure the friendship of the staff”.
Prior to opening the centre, which is a listed building on the banks of the River Severn and fronted by a 16th century townhouse, Ridgway and his brother Denis took over the Perry & Phillips auction house in Bridgnorth which they ran in tandem with the centre. The auction business closed in 2018.
The centre operates on four floors and has around 40 dealers.
