1. Primarily known for his idealised portraits, Eduardo Forlenza (1861-1934) painted this signed 12in x 3ft (31.5 x 92cm) panoramic oil study of mother and daughter on a terrace, which sold at Duke’s of Dorchester on April 26. Another identical subject on a square canvas sold at North Carolina saleroom Leland Little in 2017 for $1100 (around £900).

2. Irish painter Rowland Hill (1915-79) made numerous painting trips to Donegal, often in the company of fellow Irish artists and landscapists Theo Gracey (1895-1959) and Padraic Woods (1893-1991). This 12 x 16½in (30 x 42cm) oil on canvas of Port-na- Blagh in Donegal was offered for the first time since 1975 at Busby of Bridport in Dorset and took a multi-estimate sum on May 16.

3. Warwick Hutton’s (1939-94) illustrations for children’s books covered biblical, folk and mythological stories. This 16 x 12in (41 x 31cm) pen and ink watercolour titled God talking to Adam and Eve sold at Keys of Aylsham in Norwich on May 18.
