Peege in Freiburg is auctioning a bracket clock with a signed striking movement by Julien Leroy in its sale of April 10-13, with a starting price of €2400.

Leroy was born in Tours and trained in Paris; in 1713 he became a master and opened his own workshop two years later. He created numerous timepieces for Louis XV and was soon rewarded with the title of Horloger du Roy.

Peege in Freiburg is auctioning a bracket clock with a signed striking movement by Leroy in its sale of April 10-13. The bronze-mounted case and the corresponding bracket, measuring 3ft 6in (1.06m) overall, are decorated with floral inlays of coloured horn, tortoiseshell, ivory and mother-of pearl.

The starting price is €2400.
