I owned it for 40 years or so (I have collected advertising for many years – I sold my first collection at Bonhams in 1980, around 500 lots).
I understand there are probably only 18 examples of this Gilbert Rae’s tinplate sign in existence in the world.
I would love to know if that’s true – can any of your readers help? It is one of advertising’s rarest and most desirable signs, I would guess.
