Hendrika Stephens, the Sheffield artist who spearheaded the launch of the quarter in 2012, said: “For 2020 the markets will be adding live local music and stand-up open mic to support the work of the Sheffield branch of the City of Sanctuary which works to build a culture of welcome and hospitality for refugees and asylum-seekers in the UK.”

The markets run on the first Sunday in the month with the first this year on February 2.

The quarter is now home to five antiques centres including the Heeley Bank Antiques Centre and the Sheffield Antiques Emporium, plus Swifties, a reclamation yard, as well as plenty of other independent businesses.
