Typical of jewellers in the 1960s-70s, he looked beyond precious stones for materials – in his case the pebbles and organic materials he found close to the River Po area where he lived and worked.
The signed diamond and pebble rings offered in Newbury were typical: one set with a 2ct diamond next to a pebble (£1500), the other a rock with two drilled finger holes set with a brilliant cut accent (£420).
The sale took place on January 15.
