It is not by Ethel Mary Smyth, composer and Suffragette, but is much more likely to be by Ethel Mary Julia Smyth (1861-1958), daughter of a vicar.
She was born in Northamptonshire and died in Gloucestershire. Passenger lists show she was well travelled.
