'Julia Wearing a Mantilla', (c.1914), a 3ft 7in x 3ft 3in (1.08m x 98cm) oil on canvas by Ramon Casas (1866- 1932), sold from Colnaghi during London Art Week for €190,000.
It is part of the exhibition The Golden Age of Spanish Modern Art, which runs at the St James’s gallery until September 25. Held in association with Barcelona galleries Sala Parés and Artur Ramon Art, it includes 15 works by 12 artists. More than 50% sold during its initial week.
“We are focused on the programme for autumn, the teams are back in the galleries and the lockdown period has in fact been a moment for us to refine and improve our internal systems and processes,” says Colnaghi CEO Jorge Coll.
