The honour is part of a wider archive of historic items consigned by the family of the late Lisbon Lion to be offered by McTear’s in Glasgow on March 13.

Five of his other medals from Celtic’s extraordinarily successful 1966-67 season will also be on sale. The six medals, which include the European Cup, Scottish First Division, League Cup, Scottish Cup, Glasgow Cup and Commemoration Medal, will be offered as one lot estimated at £150,000-250,000.
The Chalmers archive comprises 40 lots in the Sporting Medals and Trophies Auction.
Another highlight is Pele’s match-worn jersey which he swapped with Chalmers (the Scotland goalscorer) at the end of Scotland’s 1-1 draw with Brazil at Hampden Park in 1966, estimated at £50,000-100,000.
Thomas Stephen (Stevie) Chalmers (1935-2019) played the majority of his career for Celtic, as a centre forward.
In the 12 seasons he spent with the Hoops he scored 231 goals (the fourth-highest goalscorer in Celtic’s history) and won six league titles, three Scottish Cups and four League Cups along with the European Cup. He also played five times for Scotland.
McTear’s sold fellow Lisbon Lion Tommy Gemmell’s match-worn boots from the 1967 European Cup final for £14,000 in July last year.
