1. Robert Emerson Curtis (1898-1986) was the official artist for the construction of The Sydney Opera House, depicted in this signed 20in x 2ft 5in (52 x 73cm) watercolour, dated 1965. It sold above estimate at Tennants in North Yorkshire with proceeds going to the Australian wildlife rescue charity WIRES.
2. Rosalie Emslie (1891-1977) painted both landscapes and portraits but it was the directness of her nudes which made an impression on her contemporaries and who found them somewhat shocking. Inspired by the Symbolist movement, this 14 x 18in (35 x 45cm) watercolour did better than the £200-300 estimate at Cirencester saleroom Dominic Winter on March 5.
3. In its sale on March 7, Stowmarket saleroom Bishop & Miller offered a collection of paintings by the Norwich Twenty Group painter Cavendish Morton (1911-2015) showing popular Suffolk scenes. This early 1970s wintry work titled Eye Church from the River Dove, measuring 11½ x 7½in (29 x 19cm) and executed in oils on board, tipped over top estimate.
