The select 73 lots will focus on Asian art, notably Chinese silver, ceramics and jades including items from the Grice collection.

This Chinese export silver tankard and cup is one of the Grice collection highlights. These were made by the firm of Wang Hing in the late 19th century.

The 4¾in (12cm) high, 275gm dragon-handled tankard is elaborately decorated with urban scenes of street vendors and messengers on horses and travellers among pavilions and pine trees.

It is stamped with an extra Chinese mark, reading sheng-ch’ang, which is often used to identify the maker within the company.

The estimate is Aus$1200-1800.
