Now he and his father Gordon, who organised the fair with him, are handing over to events organiser Ian Singleton who is based in the village and runs local community events.
Horology apprenticeship
Walduck senior said: “Last year when he was 17 Lewis took up a three-year horology apprenticeship with The Clock Work Shop in Winchester.
“We live in Bicester and it’s a daily round trip for him of 140-plus miles so while we didn’t want to abandon the fair which we had built up over the past five years, sadly he can’t give the time to it that he would wish. Our last fairs will be on Sunday, March 6, and Sunday, April 3, in Brill’s Memorial Hall.”
Starting up in the autumn under the new management, the first fair will run on Sunday, October 2, and be monthly thereafter.
