John Andrews, long-term organiser of the event next taking place on Sunday, November 13, at the Abbey Stadium in Redditch, says: “Adam Todd bought the contents of the Lowestoft Angling Centre which was closed and shuttered for 20 years and he gained access to it just before lockdown.
“The centre was a stockist in the 1970s and 1980s of the famous Swedish fishing tackle firm ABU which was established during the second half of the 20th century and had a reputation for first-class engineering as well as striking signage design.”
Prices for the advertising pieces range from £10-100 while also on offer are discontinued original ABU rod parts at £1 each – “gold dust when re-use and re-purpose are becoming ever more significant”, adds Andrews.
Andrews reports a full house of standholders offering vintage and retro tackle as well as some early Victorian and Georgian pieces.
