Nina trained at Manchester College of Art in tailoring and fashion design in the mid-1960s. She painted for a while but soon became interested in the ‘family business’, running a gallery. Her great uncle Leopold Zborowski was the patron of Modigliani.
A regular exhibitor at many of the London fairs including BADA, World of Watercolours and the 20/21 British Art Fair, she also held exhibitions at her family home near Painswick in the Cotswolds. At the start of her business she worked with a number of Cornish artists who were then less well known: Adrian Ryan, Max Barrett, Gill Watkiss, Daphne McClure and Sven Berlin.
As her passion for displaying and living with art developed she was drawn closer to the Bloomsbury Group and their work at Charleston. She also promoted individual artists such as Dod Proctor, Mary Fedden, Keith Vaughan and Bernard Meninsky. At the time these artists were really not well known.
Nina was the soul of discretion but she loved to share her passion for art by organising trips for NADFAS (now The Arts Society) to her favourite galleries and gardens.
A service was held at home for friends and family, a quiet and intimate ceremony. Nina is survived by her husband Brian and their son Peter. She will be missed by all those who had the good fortune to know her.
