The moderate estimates will surely appeal to the bidders. Among the notable pieces is a horizontal table clock from the early 18th century. The glazed gilt brass case contains a verge movement, striking on a bell fixed under the movement and has a guide of €4000-7000 on April 19-20.
It is signed Johann Kürschel in Schäßburg, a small town in what is now Romania and called Segesvar/Sighijoara. Little is known about Kürschel (Kirschel), other than that he was a member of a prominent family; he is certainly related to and conceivably identical with the Johann Kürschel who is known to have fitted a turret clock in the local castle with a striking mechanism and moving figures in 1648. That clock is still working today, albeit with an electrical movement.
