Keith Chapman has published a new book on the artist Alexander Mackenzie.
Picturing over 90 works by the artist and including a list of exhibitions that featured his work, it also includes an essay by art historian Dr Justine Hopkins.
Mackenzie was represented by Waddington Galleries in London, which staged three one-man exhibitions, as well as Durlacher Bros gallery in New York which also represented the likes of Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth.
“Hopefully, this new book shows just how good he was,” said Chapman. “He was not prolific and probably painted fewer than 300 oils in his 50 year career. David Bowie was a big fan and visited him a few times in the 1990s - some of his collection of Mackenzies were sold at Sotheby’s in 2016.”
The book is available in both hardback (£49 +p&p) and softback (£19 +p&p).
