On offer at Pousse-Cornet (20% buyer’s premium) auction house in Blois on February 24 were a set of eight chairs, a dining table and sideboard (all previewed in ATG No 2631).

The most expensive were the chairs which were examples of Chareau’s MF275 model created in 1924 and featured on his exhibition stand at the Salon d’Automne in 1926.

They were hammered down at €100,000 (£85,470) against a guide of €7000-10,000 to a French buyer who also secured the sideboard for €10,500 (£8975).

The dining table went to another French collector for €30,000 (£25,640).
