Only a couple of straightforward, uninscribed copies have made a little more in the past.

A high-priced lot offered at Sotheby’s (25/20/12% buyer’s premium) on December 13 last was a corrected typescript that marked Fleming’s final revisions to his last Bond novel, The Man with the Golden Gun of 1965.

Autograph revisions in blue ink appear on some 80pp of the typescript, among them two short sentences added at the very end of the last page.

It sold at £52,000.
