Around 160 pieces will be on offer, some of them acquired by the doctor, Paul Des Marez, at the Morlaix rooms where he was a regular attendee at its summer sales.

Examples of Parisian and provincial French silver are represented in the collection along with pieces from Iberia, Germany, Britain and South America.

Included among the Parisian hollow-wares is this silver water jug of swirling rococo form, the work of the master goldsmith François Joubert, dating from 1758-59. It has an estimate of €10,000-12,000.

The collection will be on view in Morlaix and Paris prior to the auction.
